Sreang Heak, PhD

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Dr Heak was born and raised in Cambodia. He received his Master Degree in Public Administration in 2009 and his PhD Degree in Political Science in 2013 from University of Hawaii at Manoa, Hawaii, USA. He is most interested in the field of applied advanced statistics (e.g., structural equation modeling, hierarchical mixed modeling, survival analysis, and other advanced regression modelling.) He has been involved in various longitudinal research studies since 2009 publishing articles in the field of disability studies (e.g. the effect of goal setting on physical activities in diabetes) public health studies (e.g. diabetes and breast cancer), and other social science related fields (e.g. domestic violence, child labour exploitation, and human trafficking). He is currently working as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Hawaii Academy pioneering the statistical analyses and modeling of data from the Hawaii Longitudinal Study of Fitness.  He enjoys exploring the beauty of Hawaii with his wife and son when not  occupied by his research.
