Scotty began martial arts tricking tricking in 2011 and is one of the oldest trickers in Hawaii in age.
Originally from Brooklyn he grew up fascinated with break dancing and just movement in general. Climbing, jumping, and flipping around E 55th sttreet lead him to a gymnastics school.
Retiring from gymnasctics in 1996 as a national champion and he focused his efforts toward coaching.
Scotty moved to Hawaii and continued coaching. He began an open gym program at a local gym in Honolulu.
In 2011 Scott Ryan got bit by the tricking bug and it has become a passion. Having retired from high flying skills years ago he was interested in a new art form full of self expression that combined all the things he loves with none of the things that took the fun away from it.
