We have two major divisions of competitive sports programs: a Non-Traveling State-Level Trampoline-Tumbling Teams Division and a Traveling Trampoline Teams Division. The first competes under the banner of Hawaii Academy and seldom leaves Honolulu, never the state of Hawaii. The second division competes under the banner of Hawaii Trampoline Teams and travels throughout the world. In all there are seven programs: State Teams, Junior Teams, High School Teams, College Teams, Adult Teams, Seniors Teams, and Elite Teams. Following our mission statement, HA athletic teams promote lifetime fitness for members of ALL ages and abilities! Our teams emphasize LIFE LESSONS! |

HTA's Collegiate Trampoline Teams Competitors In the summer of 2006, Hawaii Academy started the first collegiate trampoline program since it stopped being part of AAU and NCAA artistic gymnastics in 1964. Responding to a special invitation, two HA athletes and a coach traveled to Osaka, as the first foreigners in the 41 year history of the All Japan Inter-College Championships. The event was so inspiring that the Academy immediately formalized proposals to restart college trampoline teams in America culminating in the USAG Collegiate National Championships. Modeled after the Japanese inter-college system, college athletes compete within three ability classes: C=0.0-3.4 DD, B=3.5-6.9 DD, and A=7.0+ DD. (All Collegiate-Level Trampoline Coaches Must Have Experience as an Athlete, Coach, and/or Judge at Collegiate National Championships.) |

HA's Elite Trampoline Teams Competitors The highest level of training is elite. These athletes train five hrs per day for six days per week. By invitation only, these athletes must meet the USAG elite requirements and are usually training for membership on US national teams and international assignments. Since 2003, this program has produced over 30 JO national championships, over 10 elite national championships, and an age group world championship. However, despite its string of successes, elite athletes in this program will take an extended break following the World Championships and World Age Group Competitions (Nov & Dec, 2007) with many pursuing other sport interests. This program will be dramatically changed in 2008, possibly training only three days per week with totally different goals and objectives, some involving circus-type performances. (All International-Level Trampoline Coaches Must Have Experience as an Athlete, Coach, and/or Judge at FIG International Championships) |

Trampoline Competition Schedule |
We strongly recommend that ALL HA athletes attend one of the monthly Safe Falling Workshops held at the Academy. For more information see the syllabus and position paper. The dates of these workshops are displayed in green on the team events schedule. |
