Thirteen Hawaii Athletes
Win at Trampoline National Championships:
Matt Moniz, 17 yrs, Aiea High School Junior, won 1st on Double-Mini Tramp (Level 10), 4th on Tumbling (Level
10), 5th on Trampoline (Level 10). *** 2nd Time National Champion ***
Keisha Padello, 10 yrs, Manana Elementary School 5th Grade, won 4th on Double Mini-Tramp (Level 10), 14th on Trampoline (Level 10), and 45th on Tumbling (Level 8).
Kelsen Onigama, 9 yrs, Our Redeemer 4th Grade, won 4th on Double Mini-Tramp (Level 10), 5th on Tumbling
(Level 8), and 6th on Trampoline (Level 10).
Drew McPhillips, 13 yrs, Moanalua Middle School 7th Grade, won 6th on Trampoline (Level 10), 11th on Double Mini-Tramp (Level 10), and 11th on Tumbling (Level 9).
Whitney Toyoda, 8 yrs, won 6th on Trampoline (Level 5), 17th on Tumblimg (Level 5), and 24th on Double Mini-Tramp (Level 5).
Christina Laguens, 10 yrs, won 21st on Tumbling (Level 5), 26th on Double Mini-Tramp (Level 7), and 30th on Trampoline (Level 6).
Julia Ruggieri, 10 yrs, won 10th on Double Mini-Tramp (Level 6) and 42nd on Trampoline (Level 7).
Kristin Koss, 12 yrs, won 31st on Tumbling (Level 5), 32nd on Trampoline (Level 7), and 35th on Double Mini-Tramp (Level 7).
Rory McPhillips, 9 yrs, Gus Webling Elementary 4th Grade, won 12th on Trampoline (Level 9), 16th on Double Mini-Tramp (Level 8), and 27th on Tumbling (Level 8).
Kathleen McPhillips, 11 yrs, Gus Webling Elementary 6th Grade, won 28th on Double Mini-Tramp (Level 9), 33rd on Trampoline (Level 9), and 38th on Tumbling (Level 8).
Brianna Lovett, 13 yrs, won 7th on Trampoline (Level 8) and 17th on Double Mini-Tramp (Level 8).
Tiare Bolongan, 14 yrs, Kapolei Middle School 9th Grade, won 16th on Double Mini-Tramp (Level 8) and
30th on Trampoline (Level 9).
Laneika Tagavilla, 16 yrs, won 18th on Double Mini-Tramp (Level 8) and 42nd on Trampoline (Level 9).
During this time Nani Vercruyssen, 12yrs, Kaimuki Middle School, Hawaii’s only elite trampolinist, competed as a member of the US International Team at the IndoPacific Championships in Kelowna, BC Canada, where she received a gold medal on Double Mini-Tramp and a silver medal on Trampoline. She then traveled to Tampa where she won a bronze medal in the Pan American Championships in Synchronized Trampoline. Her next meets are the Japanese Junior (Elite) National Championships in Yamagata, Japan, August 2-9th; and a Russian Competition Tour in Belarus and Moscow in November.
